Do you play as your Simself?

I played as my simself when I first started playing in the sims 1 era. My first sim in the sims 2 was a simself and when this sim became an elder and was nearing death I freaked out and told myself never again. And this is not because of the old age itself but because this sims life was done, complete and over, with fictional husband and adoptive daughter. I could no longer say 'this is virtual me' but also couldn't let go as I can with other sims because this sim once was me.

Now I often go for sims that have some resemblance to me when it comes to appearance and traits, but they are not me. Besides they start as a single without children which I like as a starting point. a simself of me now would be incomplete without spouse and children. The sims I play are characters in a story. And most of the time magical characters because why not... They live the magical and supernatural life that I can't do in real life.
