- If you haven't already, try repairing your game files. Right-click on The Sims 4 in your Origin library. In the drop-down menu, choose the repair option. Let Origin verify your game files and correct any possible errors. Depending on your system, it may take a while. Afterward, try to restart your game.
If your game is modded, try removing all of your mod files and deleting the localthumbcache.package file in your Sims 4 folder. The game will reconstruct that file the next time that you start your game. If your game loads up after doing that, the problem is a mod and you'll need to check them all to determine which is the culprit.
The "50-50" method is fast. Add half of your mod files back into your mods folder. If your game starts, set those "safe" files aside in a separate folder on your desktop and test the next half of your remaining mods. Keep doing that until you find the cause for the game failing to load.
As a rule, it is always suggested to check all mods for updates after a patch.
Good luck getting your game to run. - SEREFRASSeasoned VeteranI always do a full repair after an update so that my game runs smoothly.
- WolfFox90New SpectatorI've said to others, make a copy of your Sims 4 Folder after Exiting the game, the latest Origin update just corrupted a bunch of games but if it's not that... it's the actual updates for The Sims 4, the Save Files or the game gets easily corrupted sadly and sometimes the Saves can just corrupt by themselves out of the blue. Make a Game Backups folder in Documents and copy and paste The Sims 4 Folder (Electronic Arts Folder in Documents) then rename it just incase so nothing conflicts, then if the Saves should disappear or corrupt you can copy and paste the latest Saves into the Saves folder.
Alas... if you have Mods of CC i wouldn't recommend it... they update SO often sometimes 2 or 3 times in 1 month like they have this month because of other issues with other games but they still update at least once a month and The Sims 4 updates we've no idea when a lot of them will happen they just decide to do it... and it just breaks Mods and CC which then corrupts the game... i just don't bother because it's enough having to keep copies and i always keep the previous Save incase the newest one completely breaks and i'm always making a new Save As to keep them as fresh Saves, at least it's not too far behind from where i was... i also make sure to keep Saving anything i'm building into My Gallery too, a price we pay for the updates. The Sims 3 had the same issues as i heard from someone i knew who plays it. - SEREFRASSeasoned VeteranYes, but I still click the repair to make sure it runs smoothly.
- i've tried it several times and i've had to uninstall n everything it was working great then boom with new update I should have waited before I bought all the new stuff
- WolfFox90New SpectatorYeh totally wait until they've ironed out majority of the bugs from new Packs if you buy any they're too buggy when they first come out.
