I'm not into fairie stuff, but I wonder if "something is growing" might refer to the fern? It's a new plant, and it might come with certain new features...
Something is growing might refer to the new gardening stuff they add. If we get an apothecary skill this might mean new harvestables, and maybe new collectibles too. Something is growing might be about the new plants they add.
