I would definitely report this as a bug. It's so discouraging to read this. I was originally excited about the new pack, but I don't want it if it's going to be so buggy. I hope you can work around this problem, and I hope the Sims team fixes these issues soon! I am afraid I will miss out on getting the special items because it's taking too long for the bugs to be fixed.
