- SimmervilleSeasoned AceI don't have this pack yet, but I too would actually expect a way to take a photo of more than 3 sims... I really don't understand why that would be a problem? Have a floor rug object with 8 slots, and click the object to direct chosen sims to find a free spot on that rug. I wouldn't need complex poses and smiles etc...

How do you use the tripod timer ?
You can do this; I've been experimenting with this method since the pack came out. What' I've been doing is getting everyone set up on markers, then for each set I choose 3 different Sims as the "posers"; these are the ones that will randomize their pose, while the others remain still. Here's some examples of what I've been able to figure out.
In this one, I wanted a picture of 3 kids and two toddlers with their grandmother at a birthday party. I built a deck to use as a stage and lined up 3 rows of markers. The 3 children are the ones being photographed. Grandma and the two toddlers are waiting on the markers.
In this one, the two adults and one toddler are posing; the other one is waiting. But there's not much difference between the posing toddler and the waiting one. Of course, this doesn't always work; if the waiting toddler isn't in the mood to be photographed, you can end up with something like this:
(Personally, I don't mind this; after all, a toddler isn't always going to cooperate and pose on demand, so it's kind of realistic to have some pictures where one is fussy.)
I've even managed to combine Sims on markers with the pet photos, although this is a bit trickier...you have to be able to predict where the Sim and pet will pose together around the camera. So far I only have a 50% success rate with this.
I want to keep playing around with it to get the hang of mixing the different types of photos together. - catloverplayerSeasoned Ace

I feel like the main reason for taking pictures in documenting growth & events, capturing loved ones as well as fam portraits. They all seemed really proud of what the accomplished with the three sim shot, but it would have made more sense with four people as that’s the average family size. It would also make more sense to have family members seem more joined by touching or hugging. This is especially true with romantically involved sims. Are there hugging and kissing poses? I’m not sure
A question for everyone... are the portrait poses similar to the group shot you get after making a family in CAS?
No hugging or kissing poses but for that I recommend Sacrificial's Passionate Romance Mod. It has 25 Poses and there are kissing, hugging, backward hugging etc.
Do you have to pose them before taking the shot then?
They pose. You click manage, they pose and you take the pic. You can hang them on the wall. Sacrificial say he's going to update the mod to work with the tripod. "SheriSim57;c-17203780" wrote:

If you have the Family Portrait that came in a free update you can have all the sims in a household appear in a picture in a variety of outfits and poses. I have that one on the centre of the photo wall of one sim family, surrounded by small and medium snapshots and the collage photo frame. It looks pretty good, except I had to shrink it down quite a bit. Hopefully they will make that Family Portrait available with different frames and sizes. I would like more couple poses, both fun and romantic, though; the few we have aren't enough. I would also like it if they would also enable making the sims stand still for a decent length of time. When I try to photograph 3 sims, one always wanders off.
How do you get that family portrait. What update?
The family portrait was part of an update in 2018 which promoted the Sims Mobile. You had to download that game on your phone and then you could go to a website on the Sims 4 and enter your mobile number. Now this never worked for me even though I did download the Sims Mobile on my phone because I am not from the US. The site refused to recognize my mobile number, which was very frustrating.
However, over at Sims 4 Studio, the portrait was extracted and turned into a package file by Glassplumbob (it’s still there in the Creator Studios section). About a week later, a creator named Pegasys posted a version with a simpler frame in the Custom Content Links. So people with PCs can still get it if they want it.
The portrait itself is too big and has a gaudy gold frame. It can be sized down, though. I hope that EA adds it to the game in a regular patch so that everyone can have it, and that they include more options for frames.- catloverplayerSeasoned AceI'm still waiting for EA to add it to the consoles. I have it on the PC and I love it.
- DeepPurpIeRising TravelerForgive my ignorance, I only just saw the live play. Does anyone know if you can use the get famous dressing room along with the photo shoot items for a real studio feel?
- elliebretonSeasoned AceHas anyone managed to do a family portrait with a work around?
- DeepPurpIeRising TravelerAre you able to do photo shoots outside of the studio? So at a park for example?
Are the features available with all the cameras even if they didn’t come with this pack?
I feel like wedding photography is a big one, can you use it with that? "DeadFishy;c-17202410" wrote:

You can use the tripod with any camera in any location ( you can put it in your sim's inventory).- dianed485New ScoutI’m guessing you could still place markers, have your sims stand on them then chose one to take a picture of (with the others in the frame) and that may look like a family photo.
