I so far am enjoying small pets, I just set up the hamster cage in my little girls room and had to buy that cool coffee table fish tank, but this whole pack got me thinking about fishes. We personally had a fish tank for years and enjoyed it a lot, but our fish had to be fed, the tank had to be cleaned and so on.Why are sims 4 fish treated as objects instead of small pets?? This would’ve been the perfect chance to change that. Please let us feed our fish, they must be starving by now it’s been 2 years.

Fish as objects that can’t be fed and watched is very disappointing. They can’t even die.

You can't really interact with fish like you can with a hamster....so it would be a waste of resources to add feeding and cleaning bowls to fish. Basically, you'd just be adding more chores to the game....no real gameplay or any fun interactions. I also place the aquarium near the front door, at the bottom of the stairs....it's a good place to corral sims coming downstairs in the morning, returning home from school/work, etc. so I don't lose track of them....plus, it's a good stopping point near the front door on the way to school or work to get that fun meter up before they leave or when they return. Unfortunately, it seems to reflect the view people also have IRL of fish being ornamental instead of actual pets. :( I've six fish tanks and naturally they take a lot of maintenance. Seeing them all excited at feeding time first thing in the morning and just before bed makes me smile.

I rather not have to feed fish my sims suck at that and thats why I have never let them own a pet. :D

Wow six tanks?! That’s impressive. We had one coral tank with several fishes a 120 gallon and it was so much work but fun work for sure. I could sit and stare all day at that tank I miss it.

I don’t know. I have a rather ambivalent feeling regarding this. On the one hand it is a nice little detail that makes the game more lifelike. On the other hand I am a collecting freak and don’t wanna lose my collections and find them again just because I forgot to feed them in the morning. I lost so many fishes in Sims 2 and so many cow plants in Sims 4, so I guess if the fish will die of hunger that will drive me crazy.

For $10 you can feed your fish. Even get a few recolours on the fish tanks.
