For rent question

Has anybody played the game as a renter in a house? I want to rent a house but the million plus bug happened a lot and after starting a new game 7 to 8 times before it would fix itself, it burned me out on trying to play that way again.

I don't want to play as a landlord or tenet with sims on the same lot. The reason I bought for rent was the devs saying they added a lot challenge called maintenance troubles. What they failed to mention was that it was text based game play and it wouldn't work like on a residential rental lot. I would have waited for a sale if I had known.

So has the million plus bug for renting a residential lot been fixed or did they only fix it for rental residential lots? I don't want to set up my house lot for rental residential because then I can't change it back to residential if the bug wasn't fixed.
  • Hi @DragonAge_300905 they claimed this bug fixed in the most recent patch, but it isn't fixed for everyone.
I see from your post on the bug report that you found it :)
There are two workarounds currently afaik, one is to set the lot residential and then back to residential rental, but I wouldn't recommend that because that process is also bugged for many people in a way that completely breaks the lot!
The other workaround comes from @Brd709

I discovered last night that if you switch every unit back to 'shared' then assign the units to your space again, the correct rents now display instead of the 4 million + rent that's first displayed. It's a temporary solution but i found it worked ok for me.
