Foraging and the open explorable spaces of Henford On Bagley!

I keep wondering about how open the areas are going to be in this new world. I really hope when they say you can "forage" that it is actually a new interaction! I keep picturing how you can shake trees in Animal Crossing. How cool would it be if we could do something like that but also search around bushes and other greenery too? There could be chances of finding duds like clumps of dirt and very small chances of finding great valuables. I really hope that there are nice open explorable areas in Henford to do our foraging! What are your thought or ideas on this?

  • We already have foraging in the game. They call it collecting. I don't know whey people are acting like it's something new.
  • Yeah, I think the collecting will work the same, there will just be more reason to get out there and forage since we might need constant fresh ingredients for lot traits.

There was a mod where you could forage and it involved clicking on trees and such to find things. I am hoping that the foraging is indeed a new interaction but you are probably right that they were just using a different word for typical collecting.

  • I’m curious, is there a link to where they talk about it?

Yes, I would like to know how it will be different from current collecting where you go out in the world and collect whatever you see growing in trees or bushes.

Check out SimGuru Romeo's Twitter. He was answering a lot of questions and one of them was about your sims going out foraging.
  • Maybe, it will be similar to beachcombing idea in Sulani with undergrowth instead of sand.

It was mentioned in the blog.

The Simple Living Lot Challenge makes cooking cheaper, but it also means recipes depend entirely on what you’ve got in your inventory. Forage in the nearby woods for mushrooms and berries, borrow some milk and eggs from your animals, and keep your garden full.

I'm curious about those woods. I hope they aren't a rabbit hole like in Sims Medieval. If I go foraging, I want to see what my sim is doing. Oh my gosh, I'm getting really excited about this pack.
