Formal/Party outfits

That's an excellent question, I didn't understand this either!

I believe they said that formal is for things like a formal dinner party, a wedding, etc. And party wear is for an informal get together - a birthday party, for instance.

Formal is for weddings and formal diner. Party is for any other party like birthday etc.

I hadn't heard we'd be able to have dinner parties - will do some research!

I really hope the full game has some better options for formal wear...the demo is just clubbing frocks and a full length gown...neither are appropriate for a dinner party... lets get some cocktail dresses up in here!

I've seen a few formal gowns in screenshots that aren't in the demo. They're not too bad.

Well hopefully there will be functioning restaurants added. Then you can send your sim out to a fine dining restaurant in formal wear, which wouldn't be the same thing you would wear when out clubbing at the bar. I like that they have both categories. I always thought the formal outfits were too fancy for most of the events I would have my sims dress up for.
