Has anyone ever recreated the Sims 2 story line, sims, or lots in Sims 4?

I was attempting to play my old sims 2 game but the darn thing kept crashing to the desktop. It wasn't quitting, just wouldn't return to play. I gave up after nearly an hour and a half of gameplay went down the drain. I had just married Don and Cassandra, and they had moved into a home where I spent that time doing some serious overhauling of a house that had too many and way too small of rooms to do anything. I was just about to save when I was hit with the blue screen of death.

So I decided I would love to attempt to replay that storyline but in Sims 4. At least in this game, I have never had my game just crash out of the blue. Anyways has anyone ever recreated the Sims 2 storyline in this game?

  • Have you been able to run Sims 2 on this computer? I know there need to be some fixes for it to run on recent versions of windows.

And yes, I've re-made many Sims 2 characters for Sims 4. Sometimes the story is the same, sometimes very, very different.
  • It was about a year ago since I last played Sims 2 on this computer and it played wonderfully. I've checked the compatibly and that was good as well, I'm on a Windows 8.1.

Did you put any of your sims in the gallery?
  • I did a very large sims 3 to sims 4 project and it was mentioned at the time by @Karon that there was also a sims 2 save out there: https://sssvitlans.tumblr.com/post/181672501144/the-sims-2-to-the-sims-4-the-uberhood-20

I have downloaded it myself but not played with it yet, but the pics of it look fab!

Edit: you would need the free WINrar program to open the download. It's free and easy peasy.

    @elanorbreton thanks for mentioning me.
I have found another sims 2 save file last year, its this one here: https://dreaminginsimlish.wixsite.com/thesims/post/the-sims-2-save-file-for-ts4-pictures-included-sims-2-conversions-mods-to-sims-4-dl-links
I haven't played with it, jsut took a look at it in-game and I think its really good. The one I showed to elanor has more sims, from other neighborhoods, but this one seems to be more detailed on the neighborhoods itself. IDK, haven't played much with both.

oh, and there's this one I played in 2016/2017... but its just strangetown, by reticulates: https://reticulates.tumblr.com/post/146653198831/11-builds-7-households-loner-singles-are

and there's rosebuds save too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCxpvp_GEgE

I haven't played in this one. I think its just pleasantview and strangetown, and if i'm not mistaken its kinda mixed with sims 4.

oh, and I'm currently building a Sims 1 save file. :D

Ooh, do you have a thread for it? The other sims 2 saves look awesome too, I really need to play some of them! (Am currently doing my first legacy at the moment and am enthralled with that, but bound to get bored eventually lol).

Yes I have created a few such as The Tricou, Aspir, Provocateur, and Broke families as well as the Gearheads and have added them to the gallery.
  • I love doing that and have a save dedicated to Sims 1-2 then one for just Sims 2 Strangetown stories that I made when Strangerville came out, because Strangetown was always my favorite.
I put in my own twists though and fill in whatever backstory doesn't satisfy me or has gaps. If there is a mystery like Skip Brokes death by drowning... I try to make a story around it. I will research the parents/ghosts in their memories ect and sometimes start with them or they will still be alive in my game to live out the story hinted at. It's fun.
Also since there were only so many face and skin presets they might be changed up a bit because once you start remaking them they all look too much alike if you don't.
  • Sort of? One of my saves, before it went off the rails, had my versions of Pleasantview & Neighborhood 1 sims -- the Newbies, my version of the Pleasants (both gens), the Burbs (both gens), Claire Charming, Michael Bachelor, Chris and Melissa Roomies, and couple of the Tri-Var girls. My plans were to remake some of the TS1 and TS2 lots and make it fit my integrated idea of "The" neighborhood. I planned to use the TS2 goth house as the "real" one, and let the TS1 goth house be an extra family holding. With so many sims things quickly got out of hand, but I might try a round 2 -- now that we have uni, I can make a few more Sim State University kids.

Found a picture of SOME of the sims I was playing with:

    Okay, so...

Top row, moving left-right: Angela and Lilith, Brandi Broke, Darren and Cassandra

Second row: Melissa Roomies, The Real Malcom Landgraab from SimCity 3000, Michael Bachelor, Lucy Burb, and...Darleen Dreamer, I think her name was.

    Bottom row:
Bob Newbie, looking awesome; Heather Huffington; Clair Charming, and Daniel + Mary Sue.
