- Cats and dogs count toward the household limit of 8.
- You can have 1 sim and 7 pets. Only 8 household members.

I thought it depends on your household because can’t we only have 8 in a household including pets?
How many pets is a sim allowed to have? - SimTresa7 years agoSeasoned Ace

Yes. - LaBlue03147 years agoSeasoned AceThank you everyone, it's a shame that they didn't add a few extra slots for pets like they done in past Sims games.

As far as I'm aware sims 2 was the only one with extra slots.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong for sims 3, but I believe they counted towards the total. - LaBlue03147 years agoSeasoned AceSims 3 they allowed a couple of extra slots as well.
https://simsvip.com/2011/08/18/sims-3-pets-household-limit-confirmed/The Sims 3 Pets Expansion has bumped the household limit by 2 totaling 10 members. This means you can mix and match between 8 Sims and 6 Pets that do not exceed 10. Pets will count as member of the household and take up a spot.
- Omri1477 years agoSeasoned AceYeah, TS2 and TS3 had the same slot additions and limits. TS4 is more like TS1 in this regard...
