I have done that. Mo ed into a 20x30 lot in Henford set funds to 0. My sim was only allowed to make money by things she could sell at the weekly festival using the yard sale table or the garden carts or errands. She survived a lot on fishing at first and forging. She wasn't allowed to return to her home lot until she saved up the 2000 dollars it cost her. Which then sent her back to 0 for a while. I had simple living and off the grid to make it more challenging.
Once she "owned" the lot, she saved up money for a tent and portable shower and the potty bush. Then started a s garden.
Now its almost fall she has 8 chickens a very small cottage with a bedroom/bathroom kitchen and a cow with a small garden she just got married but still struggles only barely making it to pay bills each week and then have a little left over for groceries. She averages maybe 2000 a week to 2500 because I avoid cheaty way to get money. Now that she is married the garden work is finished faster so she might have time to fish again. But that might change too when the baby comes. Which is .....I don't really know. I have them Woo-hoo once a night being newlyweds and all and I have risky woo-hoo so we will see.
