So, I'm super excited about the aspect of having holidays. Dispite the fact that I don't have all the info on what can and can't happen during a holiday, my mind has been running wild with holidays I'd like to have. For example, I'd like a family holiday where everyone took off work and school and just hung out and played games and things. I'd like a remembrance day where my sims could go to my local graveyard and remember their dead family members. If time could be a factor, perhaps there could be a game night with friends at night once a week after work. Maybe there could be National Void Critter Day or Enjoy Nature Day etc... I was wondering if anyone else was doing this and if so, what holidays are you thinking of?

National Void Critter Day, sounds like a fun idea!Think there's more threads like this over in the Expansion Pack category but I suppose it works here too.I had not realised until recently that scheduled events weren't the same concept as scheduled holidays, so after work game nights should work really well. Personally I'm most excited for wedding planning.I've pondered making Book Day as a holiday, I don't know if it's something that only happens where I live in Wales, but one day of the year kids dress up as their favourite book characters and celebrate authors. (I'd probably make some fictional famed authors/books in my new game.) I'd also have the adults from my book club celebrate it as well though, and any other bookworm Sims.I mean, I haven't got any holidays set in stone yet as I'm waiting to see all of the traditions before me so I can really pin them down.

I'm in the US, so definitely halloween, thanksgiving and Christmas. I was thinking about mother's and fathers days. National pizza day, lol. I LOVE the remembrance day idea, I miss graveyards. I will probably do the solstices once we get a witches/magic pack.

I think I might have Llama Day, Plumbob Day, Grilled Cheese Day, Goth Day, Windenburg Day and Lazy Day. Maybe I should include a Freezer Bunny Day and an Alien Invasion Day?

I'm a huge Dragon Ball fan so I'm thinking of adding a Piccolo Day holiday. :)

For a lot of countries, patriotism is shown by the wearing of their national folk costume.

Here in Australia, we cook lamb, on a bbq, and play cricket, on beaches, on streets and in back yards.

I think the best they could include any form of patriotism, is to include things relating to plumbobs, llamas, and grilled cheese sandwiches.
You can use CC if you want real world items.
