How do I "Promote Cause" in the Politician Career?

Question

I am really embarrassed to even ask, but I just couldn't find the answer.  I googled but most of the results were for career cheats.  One place mentioned clicking the ground and "protest" so I did this but it never fulfilled the "Promote Cause" requirement.  I found a place on my computer to "Check Cause Progress" and to "Write".  But neither of these works either.  Thank you in advance.

Click on your sim and navigate to the political career sub-menu. The promote cause option is there.

You have to click on a random sim and choose politician career from friendly interactions and there you should be able to click on the promote cause option.  :)

I don't want to start new thread so I'll ask here, because I'm having the same problem. There is no option to promote cause. Promote policies is not fulfilling the task.https://i.imgur.com/KxPjn3S.png
