How Often Do You Redecorate Your Sim's Houses?

Currently in my story my sim self has lived in his current house since 1980 and we are now in 1984. The house has looked pretty much the same since he and his wife moved in. As his two remaining kids ...

Oh, that's a really good reason to redecorate! With the how Sims now have a preference for style of furniture, it's something I'm still getting used to myself.
