I can't find the option for "Read to child" anywhere?

So I'm trying to play a sim that has the big happy family aspiration, and they have to read to a child for 2hrs, but every time I try to grab a book from the bookshelf for them, I don't see any option...

Sharonia may be right, try a "Childrens" book. Also consider (if the properly equipped bookcase does not work) bringing the book into your Sims inventory and trying from there. Now that you post this, I seem to remember it being a slightly 'tricky' task. Did hovering over the aspiration thing bring up any useful details/hints?
