I don't want cars because

I am not sure that the game is programmed to allow toddlers and children to die. And that fear you speak of would be a very bad excuse for the missing cars.

Why do you assume that the game developers will suddenly add child death by cars to game? If they wanted to add child death they would have done so long ago, there are plenty of objects and animals in real life that could cause child death that are already in game and they don't cause any harm to sim children.

I want cars so I can pick up the infant that somehow got all the way across the neighborhood when I loaded into the lot.

I realize your fear, but so far, the random cars in the game just go through the Sim in the road. Absolutely no harm to the Sim. And I have got say I was shocked when my Sim's child got 'hit' by an oncoming car, but then the little Sim just carried on like nothing ever happened. I think General Discussion is a fine place for this conversation to take place.

ETA: Or not.

@GalacticGal hopefully that will be the case if cars then! I know there seem to be so many ways for sims to die.
