I need some tips about Asian looking Sims!!

Snowy Escape is more or less the pack I have ever wanted. Not much for the snowy part, but for the Japan-inspired new world and object.
As a fan of japanese culture, Mt. Komorebi will probably become my default world to live in.

So, while I wait for the pack to come out, I decided to start prepare my next gameplay. And that means japanese looking Sims.
I'm not the best when it comes to CAS and facial features, especially eyes and noses (and some tips about mouths will be good too).

What pre-made options of eyes and noses do you use as starting point? How do you change them to re-create asian looking features? Any tips on the best make up to add to asian eyes?
Please, be aware that I play on console, so I won't be able to use CCs or mods. Just what the game gives me

Thanks for your help!

  • I can recommend using reference pictures, it's always easier that way.

I usually use any monolid eyes, mostly without eyelashes (just like their look more then ones with eyelashes). Noses... I use very different ones, from wide to narrow. Can attach some screenshots.

But what I think is quite important is to pay attention to the profile. I have no idea what it's called in English, but usually you can "draw a straight line" between a forehead and a chin. Of course not all Asians (especially South Asians) have this feature, but I think it's quite common in Japan. Eyes are not deeply set too.
    Something like this:

In comparison with a "white" sim profile:

    Hope this helps!

  • The pictures were very good examples. When I was learning art (at a much younger age) I was taught to pay closer attention to the shape of a person's profile (brow bone matters) and the shape of the eyes. Whether they were round, almond shaped, etc. Whether they turned downward at the outer corners, or upward or even in distance from the inside corner to the outer corner. Whether the inner corner was up or down, too. The nose is part of the profile, does it protrude and or is it flatter (drawn in closer) to the face when looking at a Sim from the side. Was the model I was looking at a heartshaped face or square jaw, etc. I think the poster above me has given some very good examples. Each demographic in all peoples have a different, inherited facial structure.

    No problem! You're welcome :)
  • I usually just use the Asian preset and change a few things around to make the sim look unique, or I'll just look on the gallery under the asian hashtag

Oh! Good to know that there is an "asian" hashtag in the gallery!
Console players got the gallery kinda recently so I'm not used to use it! :D
  • Amazing tips in here. But since I'm not an artist Don't underestimate the usefulness of the gallery. I never use their sims per se just the base. I have created really amazing sims from using gallery bases to work with then editing from there.
I use all possible hash tags when searching something too. And not just hashtags the name section sometimes gives different results.
Try things like asian, Japan, japanese, kawaii, and anything related to what you're looking for.
With snowy escape coming I bet there's more than usual.

Yea super excited about the Japan theme. The world is so beautiful too???????
