I only use Motherlode
So I play sims 'straight' and only use motherlode for cheats lol is it weird to only wanna cheat to have inifite money and never cheat for anything else?

No. Do whatever is fun for you. I only use the freerealestate cheat as a way for sims to get 'loans' for housing they can't afford. I just wish this was implemented into the game so they'd have a mortgage to pay it back.
Although I agree that having infinite money isn't fun (for me.) The struggle is the best part and the game starts getting boring when you can afford everything.
