- netney525 years agoSeasoned AceI've been there with sims 1 and initally with sims 3 with motherlode so I understand where you are coming from. It was in sims 3 I discovered the joy of becoming rich from scratch and it felt more satisfying. With sims 4 I will use the Money cheat for my background sims if I want them to have a nice house. The exception I have made is the Goth family who seemed "poor" with their status in the game compared to the money they had for me they should have been more like the Landgraabs as they appear to be a old family with money. In my culture the Goths would very well off due to ancestry and millionaires hence my cheat on them.
- whubble18175 years agoSeasoned AceI use mods and cc but I don't use a lot of cheats. Probably my only addiction is cheating their needs, but even that is only when, for example, I am playing one of my 5 or 6 member families and I can't get them to all sit down to eat or go to bed. The mods I use are mostly for the management of unplayed families, making sure I am able to gather tombstones for dead sims and stopping things like the mermaid cooing or vampire growling. I do use motherlode if I have a family that has outgrown their house and I need to move them but never ever on my played sims. I like the struggle of earning money I guess LOL

"Old Money" usually signifies a more dignified approach, whereas those considered "New Money" tend to be more crass and emboldened about their wealth, hence they tend to flaunt it. But, I have played the game both ways. Having played Pinstar's Legacy Challenge where you have to purchase the biggest lot available and you need to buy that standalone Suit of Armor to bring down the amount of Simoleons a single Sim starts out with. I've learned just how hard it is. Very hard. Took a good three generations before they had any money to speak of and not even close to well-to-do. But, the rules of this challenge prohibits the use of mods and most cheats.
I only use Motherload on those Sims who either came into money, as Joseph Cantrell did, plus the house. But, he continued to work as a teacher, nonetheless. - texxx785 years agoSeasoned AceI think i use all the cheats here and there but never motherlode. Sometimes i use "money #" to adjust something, like when i have to pay for a dj or barista in a community lot, i'll get that money back to the household. But i agree with people above that the stuggle is part of my fun with the sims.
- I'm the opposite, I cheat money down. I don't like my sims having too much money, there's nothing to work towards then.
- I..........mostly either forget how to spell motherlode or forget to type in testingcheats on.
- crocobaura5 years agoLegendI always use motherlode but my sims are never rich. They earn their own money too.

Life getting at you too? There's too many to remember for me. I've decided to put Windows Notebook on my taskbar so I can put all the cheats on there and look at them if need be. I tend to think it is more important to remember personal phone numbers and passwords than cheats.
There used to be a cheat command to show all cheats, Help all or something like that but there doesn't seem to be one for Sims 4.
I could still do with the cheat to remove all windows or all doors that we had once before for when I redecorate my houses. - From money cheats I only use the "Money xxxx" , and only if adding sims from my library for them to live where I want to.. I know there is the freerealestate thing , but I hardly remember that one :) I also have certain (EL) cheats saved at notebook, as I would never remember how to type all :)
That's about it for cheats.. as my sims end up always having too much money, I rather cheat it down and pretend they gave it at charity or something. - Gamer_Cat245 years agoRising ScoutI have one save file that I use motherlode on, because I wanted my Sims to have big families, and the affordable houses only had 1-2 bedrooms. I didn't find the 8 Sims starter homes in the gallery until much later, when it could be accessed on the pS4.
For other ways to get a decent place to live, or have enough money, I have one of my Sims marry a rich NPC sim. Or do something I found out in an older Sims game, where you create a Sim, and move them in, and then save the family, and then move in another Sim. That way you can get unrelated Sims, and a decent house. I made a mother and five kids, and they were cramped in their house, I didn't want to use motherlode, so I created an adult Sim, and with him they had enough money for a bigger house. The male Sim and the mother are now married and expecting a child.
