If I delete all residents/townies will it break my game?

I'm thinking about starting a new save, but I want it to be fresh where I don't already know people's personalities, so I want to delete all the townies that are there when you first start and all of ...

One thing you'll want to do is to evict out the household before deleting them. Otherwise, it will make the houses empty when you attempt to move in a new family.
