If I purchase 'Laundry Day' will all of my sims be required to do laundry?

No. They only need to do laundry if you place down a hamper or any other gameplay objects related to laundry in your lot.

If you place any of the washing/drying items (like the washer/dryer or the wash tub or clothesline) or the hampers that came with the pack, you'll have to do laundry to avoid clothing piles. They didn't do anything to change the decor hampers that came with base game or the Parenthood pack, so if you just want hampers for decor you can use those.

Once you place a washer and dryer, wash tub and/or clothes line your sims will start dropping their clothes when they change. If you have no clothes hampers or if the hampers are full, sims will drop their clothes on the floor. If you have lazy or slob sims they will drop their clothes on the floor no matter how many clothing hampers you have in the house. If you have a maid or butler (or a neat friend visiting) your sims won't have to wash at all. If you have neat sims they will do laundry without your prompting though.

@aujineh Hmmm... I could deal with that okay. I always hire a maid once they are not broke and have a job, plus I have several sims with plenty of money and a butler. I never play lazy sims as that would drive me crazy since I play rather 'Type A', but I do have a slob or two...

This is why I didn't buy it. If I did buy it, I would make a laundrymat.
