@citysimmer I love how you incorporated Victor and Nancy in the story.
I also love the other backstories here - it's interesting to see how everyone has a different take on it.
Anyway, I incorporated Jacques' wife in my Halloween story about a spooky sanatorium on a remote island. I'll put it under a spoiler (it is kind of a sad story, so don't say I didn't warn you) -

Spoiler
Colette Villareal

Everyone knows she disappeared under mysterious circumstances and everyone always assumes she was killed by her husband. But this is not true. Whether it was an insult upon injury or maybe Jacques felt some kind of pity, he sent his wife to be locked away at the Sanatorium.

Once she was the stunning prize-wife and partner-in-crime of mob boss Jacques Villareal. After she had children and thus provided Jacques with an appropriate heir to take over his crime empire (the evil has always been strong in little Max), Colette had done her duty.
Jacques would have kept her as someone to raise his children, but Colette kept interfering in his business plans. So he decided she needed to go. He told everyone she died in a fire. While Colette in fact, almost died from smoke inhalation, the actual fire never touched her.

Colette spent a considerable time in a coma, and was found to suffer from severe amnesia when she woke up. After a while the doctors gave up hope of any noticable improvement and transferred her to the Saberhagen Sanatorium (no doubt bribed by Jacques).

While Colette does not remember much from her past life, she has vivid recollections of having children. She does not remember their names, but she does have endless conversations with them and writes about them in her diary.

Her short-term memory also never fully returned and it often causes Colette to get lost, luckily, she never wanders off the island, so there’s always someone that finds her. She also often “borrows” things and forgets to return them.
One odd thing though, Colette seems to be particularly drawn to fire, but so far no incidents have happened.
