Jasmine Holiday?

Am I the only one who finds this annoying? The Sims 4 is not Pokemon Go. Temporar skill boosts and whatnot has no place in this game, IMHO.
I hope it doesn't screw up MCCC or anything.

It is weird how she seems to invade some players' games. If I don't call her - which I rarely do - I usually don't see Jasmine Holiday at all during the boost weeks. I feel like she might hang out in the basegame worlds? Anyway, this time I probably will use the Photography skill boost, because I like the skill for some of my Sims but don't use cheats. Jasmine is like an official cheat.

This is the same for me, too. I rarely see Jasmine at all and forget that the boost weeks are happening completely, even when I do think it would be nice to take advantage of a boost. I just usually forget and since she's never around, I'm not reminded about it either.

I don't mind the temporary skill boosts, I just wish you didn't need Jasmine to take advantage of it---I wish Sims just gained a 20% (or whatever) skill boost, automatically, from the time you loaded the game on Day 1 until the time limit was up. If that makes sense.

Not everyone wants to use the skill boosts though. Some people are playing challenges where it’s not allowed or some people (such as myself) just like the challenge of skilling normally. Please don’t take the option to opt out of such things from people who don’t want to use them. Especially when it’s super easy to summon her via the phone.

I never use her but I don’t mind that the boosts exist for those that do want to use it. I’ve started a new save in Oasis Springs since the event started and I haven’t seen her once so it’s not like she’s super intrusive if you aren’t interested in it taking part. Not like she used to be when she would hang out around your house for hours a day...

I don't find her or the event annoying. People asked for options, so they gave us the option to either call her to get one of the boosts or not call her and ignore the event.

I find Charisma and Writing to be two of the most tedious skills to level up. With this event, I have my would-be authors leveling the Writing skill fast while they're writing books. Most of the books, even the early ones they write, are excellent quality which is a nice bonus.

I have two vampires working on the Freelance Botanist aspiration so they can get the fireproof trait when they complete it. In my game, vampires have the tendency to set either themselves or their kitchen on fire. Even roasting marshmallows, which they can't eat, is hazardous to their health.

Jasmine does not hang around on the home lots. Once my Sim gets the boost, she stays for not even a minute and then leaves.

    I hope these events continue.

Ah, sorry to go off topic, but when vampires become fire proof from completing that aspiration, does that mean they won't catch on fire from the sun, or is that considered a different thing all together?
  • I like it :) I haven't called her yet this time but she can be helpful :D It's optional, so I don't see the problem. A couple times I forgot she was even there (while other times I made a point of calling).
  • @"Livin in Sim"

Completing the Freelance Botanist aspiration gives the Sim the Naturalist trait which protects the Sim from fires with stoves, grills, and campfires. The sun can still kill a vampire.

I'm playing a game generated Grand Master Vampire who got the Love Outdoors trait. He's always outside grilling food. So far, he set his stove on fire which destroyed his kitchen while he panicked and ran outside. He went on a camping trip to Granite Falls where he tried roasting marshmallows. He burned his arm just lighting the fire. I think he really needs that reward trait.

I haven't seen her yet (or bothered to call) but I'm not in a hurry to participate in the event. If I want a skill raised faster I'll make use of her, but otherwise I don't really care.

Maybe I should have one my my sims buy a camera. Taking pictures in the jungle...

You should! I like it as a "hobby" for some of my sims, because I feel that this kind of decoration would suit their personality. This is the photo wall of one of my artistic sims - it is not done yet. She seems to me like someone who would document their travels by having such a wall of pictures in their living room. With the camera you can shoot bigger and better pictures and even sell them for some extra cash.

Edit: You can also sell pictures made with the cell phone, obviously, but the camera pictures are of better quality and sell for more.
  • love her!! lol. I think her events are better than some of the other annoying ones.
