So this is my first time playing a sim with that trait..... You mean to tell me they can only swipe one thing a night???? How am I supposed to pay my bills ( :D)???

Just be careful what you swipe. Take something from a common area and you can't replace it apparantly.

I wondered why I could only swipe lamps. I never made another klepto because I thought the trait was useless. Mischief, heh? I have to try that again.

I wonder if that only applies to a Sim that you are playing? The reason I ask is because I saw a game-generated townie kid swipe two things off of counters in a diner - not one right after the other but about a Sim hour apart. The diner was "Goldie's Griddle" created by Jenba. I had to look at the pictures of the diner that she posted on her Tumblr to see what the little rat took.I also wonder how big an item can be for a kleptomaniac to steal it. The reason I ask that question is because the other night I was testing a large park on the Twin Oracle lot in Newcrest. It had three fountains of various sizes. The smallest fountain was by some harvestable trees and plants, a medium sized fountain was by some chess tables and a huge fountain was at the entrance of the park. When my Sim arrived at the park I checked the plants, looked at the spacing of chess tables, checked the placement of lights and easels - everything was fine. As the Sim was getting ready to leave a few hours later, I noticed that the smallest fountain was gone. I think somebody stole it.Needless to say I am deleting any Sim that the game spawns with the Kleptomaniac trait.

I had a klepto repair man, he came to repair the kitchen sink and left with the coffee machine. Guess he didn't think my sims were paying him enough :D

i have yet to try that trait for sims 4. kinda iffy bout it though that that i know public items arent replaced :/

Last I had this trait, it was broken like almost everything else in TS4. Whenever my sim swiped something, the object never showed in the household inventory.

My sims take things from work. My kids/teens steal a lot of books from the school. Sometimes I will send them to a random home to steal. They knock on the door and are invited in then go take something from a room where no one is at.

Wow, you just gave me an idea!

Now I wish swiping was a club activity.... Oh maaaaan, I'd totally love to make a klepto-kids-club sending the little ones out to steal things while mom distracts the home owners on the front door xD

I've never had a sim with the klepto trait but reading all of this it kinda makes me wanna make one hahaha xD

In one of my previous households I had a cleaning man with the klepto trait. Things went missing and at first I didn't realise he took them. I thought it was a glitch :grin:

I was wondering the same thing ! I made a klepto sim, & wanted her entire household to be filled only with items she had taken. Didn't exactly work that way. =/

Yeah I just started playing around with this trait and had the same problem. A couple of items swiped from a community lot did show up in household inventory, but items swiped from a neighbor's house didn't. I read about this and confirmed it - I switched to playing my neighbor's house and the swiped items showed up in my neighbor's household inventory. :/ Kinda ruined the story I was planning...
