My thoughts on My wedding stories

Later tonight I am going to try to attempt a wedding to see if its fix .

These are the only fixes that came with the most recent patch on March 15.

My Wedding Stories
Ceremony interactions are now available when doing a Vow Renewal or Reception at another Sim’s home.
Sims should now show up in their appropriate attire for Wedding Ceremonies
Vow Renewal is now only available to Married Sims, and Wedding Ceremony is only available to Engaged Sims.

We have more fixes being tested at the moment for a planned future patch as well.


Bottom line. MWS is not completely fixed.

Bottom line. MWS is not completely fixed.

Well,I will not say this is the worse experience I had with the sims.


Pros
The sims came up in their outfits and the officiant show up.These are the pros ,the bubble interaction work.



The Cons
Well the sims did not want to sit down
No matter how many times I did the interaction they did not want to sit.My sim honur walk down the aile .My other sim only walk midown to talk to Caleb . That was consider the asile interaction .

Did you do the wedding on a venue that had more than one wedding aisle, @Horrorgirl6? I ask because when it comes to sitting, I have the opposite problem in my game...which is that once I tell them to sit for the ceremony, they get so glued to their seats I need to reset them to get them to do stuff after the ceremony. :lol:

That's on a venue with just one aisle though. Things don't work well related to the aisle commands, at least for me, if there is more than one on the lot.

Yes,but the strangest thing is .They are standing at the room with specific asile I pick. When I said take your seats they walk there . They just did not sit.

It's my opinion this should have been caught on play testing the game before it's release and after the modders/influencers/gamechangers built the venues. Didn't anybody know TS4 Sims have a problem with any two objects on a lot? Such as two bookcases, one upstairs or one down, they will always go to the opposite one when commanding them to pick a book. Same thing with the pcs in the game...command one to use one and they will go to another one. I'm really surprised the modder who built the two venue lot didn't realize these Sims never use the one thing we direct them to use and frankly the lot should have been play tested before it was added to the game...in my opinion. Either by the modder and or by the QA team. (Then they would have known TS4 Sims go the opposite of where we command them to go and or what object to use if there are two or more).

Also, I could not get married. No matter what I did it would not let me marry.

I believe that if you have two of any kind of interactive gameplay object from MWS ... arch, aisle, dance floor, bar, buffet table, wine bottles, etc. the wedding venue will short circuit like it got struck by lightening and your Sims won't want to have a wedding any more. I try to make sure they have only 1 of each type of wedding stories object per lot and it really seems to help.

My Sims were finally able to marry, but not with the Officiant. He remained seated in the back row! This was on my third attempt. I have since started a new game save, and when the couple reaches this point, perhaps more fixes will have taken place. I LOVE this game pack for what it offers. I just wish it played well. Only once was a Sim able to ask for permission or a blessing from the father and that was my Groom's only sister when it turned out the father of her yet-to-be-intended showed up at the wedding. Haven't seen it since. I decided to try at the Rehearsal Dinner to have the groom ask his future father-in-law, but it wasn't in the menu. I'll have to play around with it. Perhaps, it has to be after the engagement, but before the wedding?

So I've tried out a wedding last night following the patch. Here are my thoughts:
-Things did run a bit smoother. Guests stayed sat, officiant went to their position, I was able to make toasts and cut cake without mishaps.
-Bouquet didn't work. But I think that's because of its original design, not game glitches.
-No matter how hard I tried the happy couple would not do their first dance even though the guests gathered.
-Even with things working this pack is still filled with a bunch of horrific micro management with little pay off.

I think, like with most packs that you can get *some* enjoyment by making sure weddings are set up with established Sims rather than playing through with a household you have little attachment to.

Overall I can't shake the feeling that this pack was unnecessary and should have just made Base Game Weddings more fun. All the other events are events that we could technically do with a dash of imagination.

It doesn't just need fixing. It needs a serious refresh.
