Negative Feedback Thoughts

*I will start by saying I do not condone any type of attacks on Gurus, YouTubers, or other simmers, however I have noticed that many who are defending EA/Maxis/Gurus are saying that the community is entitled for having genuine complaints with Sims 4.

I did the math and if a person is paying full price for every currently released pack (not including Star Wars) they would pay $729.65. For Sims 4 there for a total of the base game and 34 almost 35 packs.

Sims 3 on the other hand has 20 packs (expansion and stuff packs) I do not remember the original prices and my Origin account is charging $19.99 for all of them so please share the total cost if you know it :)

I believe if someone is putting all of this money into the game they have the right to speak their mind (as respectfully as possible). The fact that people are saying negative feedback shouldn't be shared is weird to me. I should be able to say "I'm disappointed in Sims 4" or "They should fix the problems/add what the community wants" without someone saying "if you don't like it don't buy it". I believe you learn more from negative feedback and to see those sharing it being told to basically shut up is crazy to me. I also don't remember the Sims 3 community being this toxic towards each other and EA. Then again other than lag issues I believe the Sims 3 team did a good job in addressing fan concerns and providing the community with a game that was enjoyable.

I tend to like to know the thought process behind things, so I would love to hear the thoughts on why people are frustrated with the negative feedback being shared. To those who have called out others for sharing negative feedback, why did you do it/were against what they had to say? I would also like to know if someone has shared feedback that is more attacking why did you share your thoughts in this way?

Hopefully we can keep things respectful and make this about learning about the "opposite" side in a sense.
  • Thank you. Then this thread belongs in that section then, and not in this one. @EA_Rtas

Edit: I found this interesting thread there; so maybe any suggestions that come from this thread will be heared if moved there: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/968147/responses-on-ideas-feedback#latest
  • I do find it...odd that some people who love sims 4 end up in negative threads. Do what every you like as long as you're respectful. But sometimes it comes off very "Well if it's good enough for me it should be good enough for you. So stop complaining." I mean if you like the game so much maybe instead of fighting with complainers dedicate your time to showing your appreciation to the sims team. Or share tips to help people's games run smoothly? And same goes for people on the other side of the spectrum. Game full of things you're not satisfied with? Going into a positive thread isn't going to solve the problem.
  • I feel that some Simmers complain bitterly without trying to see if there is any help in "Answers" or have a low grade computer that can't play the game at the level they force it to." Game-changers do have their uses sometimes. eg Platforms!

Some Simmers need to update their drivers, and that means bios, video, audio and any other drivers they haven't checked for years.

Some Simmers just have issues with EA/Maxis.

Some Simmers need to learn about how to give feedback that is not rude or confrontational to the Gurus. That is not likely to have a positive effect is it?

    Have fun everybody. <3

  • I ignore some 'positive threads about X' because i know I wont agree or have something to contribute. Why not just ignore the negative threads that you see? The same way you want "complainers" to not derail your threads or be intrusive or make post after post with complaints (ironically the complaining about complainers threads) and you want those negative simmers to ignore them, ignore those too. Be the change you want to see in the world lol

But it’s the truth. All the white knights are attacking anyone who doesn’t think like you. I haven’t entered your “positive thoughts threads “ because I have nothing positive to say. But you guys are in our own forum and complaining about us complaining lol.so why are y’all here?

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by "our own forum"?

I think he means our forum though I don't think he was labeling it as his forum.....:/

Well, in my view this is EAs forum and anyone can post within the forum rules and guidelines. And this thread specifically wants to explore why people respond the way they do to negative feedback, if I may quote from the original post.

So I guess they just clicked on the wrong thread then and it's just a misunderstanding.

I must be honest I forgot what the original post was & only remembered the title of this thread assuming this was for negative feedback. I also meant “our forum” meaning this is more of where the negativity of the pack or game will be at but people still being upset over others opinions is not okay when it’s expected to be here. I never meant my forum so don’t quote “what do you mean by your forum” . Don’t put words in my mouth. I just have to learn to explain better

This is only tangentially related to the discussion at hand, but I think it’s relevant enough.

I’ll just leave this here in case anyone still believes that EA has any integrity left and deserves defending. This story just broke today.

    WOAH.

Sneaking in ads after launch so they’re not part of early reviews ?? whoever the Chief Operating Officer of Clever over at EA is really deserves a medal for full shadiness at this point ?

    It’s pretty bad form. ?

Reminds me of the Sims 4 starting those pop up sales ads on Simmers even if they have the packs. LOL

Oh? Does this happen in game or in Origin client? I don’t think I’ve ever encountered ads like this.
