"Neighborhood Stories" is a trip!!
I don't know how it's been for other rotational players, but this "Neighborhood Stories" thing has been a trip!! (I apologize for the rambling, but I just had to get this out there to people who might understand 😅)
So, 95% of these advice pop-ups have been from randos saying " seems like a great person, should I get to know them?" or "Kinda want to pursue , should I?" And I'm just like "never met you in my life, but you freaking go for it!"... Until these pop-ups affect other households that I ACTUALLY play!
Well tonight I just received quite the call, or should I say my main Sim's CHILD did, from his Grandma. I answer the phone call and it says something along the lines of "I found a ring in my boyfriend's bag, I think he's going to propose! Should I say yes?"
Now grandma's boyfriend happens to be her son's (my main Sim) boss. This may not seem like a huge deal, but I have this WHOLEEE freaking backstory written for this gameplay, basically scripted, and I've been playing this narrative out since TS4 day 1, And I was not about to let it fall apart.
So me, knowing how I want their story to pan out, is sitting here like "okay, it's just a game, Ash. So what if they- THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO GET MARRIED!! THEY'RE HAPPY AS THEY ARE..... But then again I don't want her to say no because they might break up in-game and I don't want that either. Then I'd have to rethink that entire portion of the story and-" *queue Basemental mods, younger siblings moving in with you, job quitting*... (I take my story seriously lol)
Sooooo in order to prevent a simulated mess, I channeled my inner child and went with the logical response any 5-year-old should give their grandma when asked about a huge impactful life decision: "You do what you want."
"Long story short... And that kids, is how you p!ss off Grandma ⬇️
