New Weather Thunder Snow in Snowy Escape

So the blog says your sims may encounter Thundersnow when your going up the summit. Thunderstorms will cause Blizzards. I never thought we'd see Thunder Snow in the Sims 4. I hope it's included on the Weather Machine from Seasons.

Take the gondola up to the top of the ski slopes, where you’ll find the first climbing obstacle. After that, there’s a series of challenges awaiting you. If you’re new to the sport, take the opportunity to rest at the base camps along the way, but if you’ve got the experience, try to explore a little! There are caves and other surprises on the way up. (For instance, you might find a secluded little spot for a quick Woo-Hoo up there—something about life-and-death danger really gets some Sims going. 😉)

Don’t undertake this excursion lightly, though! The weather gets worse the higher you climb, and you may end up caught in a thundersnow storm. Yes, you read that right. They’re intense blizzards that take place in the middle of a thunderstorm. And with the lightning and the booming and the wind… it gets really dangerous while you’re clinging to the side of a cliff for dear life. And if you fall from these heights… it doesn’t bear thinking about. Just be careful.

I’m intrigued to see what thunder snow is. I’d never heard of it before until about 2 years ago as we had a bit of it near where I live although I never saw it and never had it again. It was considered ‘unusual weather’ so it was in the news at the time.

Thundersnow is a Snowstorm with Thunder and Lightning. It can also be called a Thunderstorm with snow instead of rain.
  • That would be awesome. Thunder snow is a very interesting storm system. I've only seen it happen once here in the states. I'd love to see it be updated in the seasons pack too.

I have seen thundersnow a few times in RL. The worst one that I have lived through took place back in the late 70's. When we get thundersnow in RL, snow fall rate is usually something like 2'' per hour. Now what the snow fall rate is for the thundersnow in the game, I don't know. In the game the snowfall rate for thundersnow needs to be pretty heavy. If they want to keep the weather phenomenon as close to RL as possible. As far as being stuck by lightning during a thundersnow in RL. I don't know, I guess it's possible. But I've never heard of anyone being stuck by lightning during a thundersnow in RL.

A teacher was struck by lightning in a Thundersnow. Fortuanly she wasn't killed but lightning can be just as dangerous in snow as it is rain. Trees and buildings have been hit during Thundersnows and fires have even been started to buildings after being hit.

  • It's possible that not many were struck by lightning during thundersnow because not many people would be out during such weather conditions.

Is this a real thing in real life? Rain, thunder, lightning, and snow all at the same time?

    Yes.

Thundersnow is generally a snowstorm with thunder and lightning. Normally it s just with snow
