My sims had various businesses and services, and if it was something that could not be charged directly (not really in the game), I just used the "charge present sim per 30 minutes" thing to make sure my active sim had some income from the business. I could invite over a club/group just to make the place busy. Or I could invite individual sims. I ran a restaurant this way (just serving a buffet of home cooked food), a shrink (just talking with the client for as long as possible, a card game playing club room, in office supervising/consultations, speeches and you name it.
One simple object with such a great variety of use - I wish we had it in TS4.
Who else recall this feature? (not sure if we also had it in TS3, don't think so, maybe the ticket system in the TS3 store was a similar thing)
I remember the ticket machine and miss it too. I used to use it with museums, community pools, movie theaters, skating rinks and gyms. So much fun.
