Awesome pics!
I do wonder what research was done to show that players did not want an open world. And yeah, that last sentence was a bit more sarcastic than a real question, as I believe the answer is "very little research".
Still, I do like having zero lag in S4 compared to S3, but that may just be my ancient computer's fault and not the open world aspect of S3.
Trust me I hated open world, I did not just want to play one family, and I hate ghost towns. The lag and drag didn't do much for me either;. Oh and lets not forget the horrid rabbit holes.
I LOVE playing multiple families. I play each and every family in my current TS3 save, I jump around through up to a dozen different families in a single session, I tend to hit them all after a few days or a week. I didn't find the rabbit holes 'horrid', they were a step up as far as workplaces go. Yes, I did feel cheated on the grocery store, book store and restaurants as well as regular stores. But I make do quite well now, transforming the once rabbit holes into very interactable lots. I'm lucky to not have that lag and drag, wish it wasn't ever an issue for anyone.
But I don't understand why you felt so trapped to play one family? It's easy to go back and forth. Easier by far with mods, just click on the sim you want and make active... don't even need to go to any edit town/world map.
