Paranormal stuff-Will they nerf it?
So will they do the usual thing, release the pack and then nerf it down as soon as they receive any complaints?! Please don't!

It probably is being used more in the sense of gutting or destroying the feature, honestly. You cannot really lower the chances of having a haunted house if you have to opt in to the lot type. In general I interpret nerfed as weakened, but if you like a feature that was then weakened you could very well consider it destroyed.
For example, with vampire break ins, they just don't happen for me anymore. Once in a blue moon Vlad will show up, but he disappears as quickly as he came with not a single sim noticing. I don't even get his welcome to the neighborhood calls anymore. Even without being a huge fan of that feature, that nerf certainly broke it in my opinion.
