Plate of food stuck and invisible now in a room!

So I'm playing the Spencer Kim household, and I was trying to make that room on the 1st floor that's in the far corner a private office for Eric by locking the doors for everyone but him, but somehow ...

I have found that all I need do is one of two options. A) Send a Sim to clean up or B ) go into build/buy mode and from there grab the stuck item and remove it. I've had a few 'floating' plates from time to time.

As you can see this one was stuck in the walls!
