pleading for a loved one-- what are the odds?

so my elderly sim died and i had his wife plead for him with the grim reaper out of curiosity. it worked, and he's alive again. but i was wondering, what are the odds with that interaction? like what chance does it have of working each time? 50%? less?

What's the point of pleading for a Sim's life if they're just going to get an extra day?

I look at it this way: an elderly sim is already at the end of their life, but pleading could give you just enough time for the last goodbyes. Still it would be much more beneficial to plead for a younger sim facing an untimely death.

But does the younger sim still only get one extra day or does it depend?

No. If the sim is young and dies unnaturally (not old age) them coming back from the dead has no effect on their lives. They'll live to old age and die naturally (provided they don't meet another untimely end, which has nothing to do with them being brought back from the dead).

The only one extra day is only in reference to elder sims brought back at the end of their lives.

Then that makes sense then. Thank you for clarifying.

My sim died of a cardiac explosion due to anger when he caught his wife cheating on him with his best friend. His wife, who by now was an enemy, was successful in pleading for his life. I think it must be a bit random...

Or Death felt the desire and the way to make him suffer even longer. Criminy petes he was better off dead.
