Movement: Slide from toddler stuff or the ‘wander’ interaction
Communication: Blarffy (sooooo quick!)
Imagination: Toys, TV or Doll house (ANOTHER TIP - if you don’t want parents to keep playing with doll house, make a small pocket in the house with a pet door. Toddlers can get through but adults can’t)

Pro Tip: Lots tend to be long rather than wide, which doesn't leave enough room for a garage, among other things. To build a house with a sufficiently wide front on a smaller lot, use a lot on a corner and build so that the front of the house faces the side street.

Pro Tip: Whenever you make a sim, swap their frame from masculine to feminine and vice versa to double check their proportions. Their offspring will look better and the sims will look a bit more realistic.
Bonus tip: use an unnatural or opposing skin tone to double check faces when making sims of colour to ensure you’re not just using skin tone and hair texture as shorthand for ethnicity. :)

School projects (Parenthood): Have the entire family assist the child/teen, not just one parent. There is room for at least 3 sims to assist, and I think it goes quicker the more assisting.

Unless you’re building a large empty warehouse on purpose, it’s better to scale down your builds to a more manageable level. It will save you from the frustration of “wanting to fill space up” and it maximizes playtime otherwise wasted on your Sims walking from point to point. Use placeholder furniture to get an idea of how wide and open the rooms you made really are. Have your sims stand next to the wall or use the mannequin if you have GTW to get a sense of scale when decorating vertically (useful for placing paintings and other wall decor). :)

If your sim is sad because someone they barely knew died again, they can give a pet a “comforting hug” which shaves 4 hours off the sad moodlet. I don’t know how I just found this after how long C&D has been out.

@Chazzzy Some simmers have trouble making sims that aren’t their own ethnicity- that tends to be a little more noticeable on the subreddits though. Swapping to green for a minute, for example, might make it easier to spot ways to be a bit more accurate with the kind of sim you’re trying to create. Basically, kinda like how Gamora still essentially looks like Zoe Saldana even though she’s green with prosthetics.

If you have a Sim complete the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration, they can also write the emotional books (Romance, Workout Guide, etc.) without having to be in the specified mood.

Pro Tip: Closeup shots, when added in with regular shots, can add visual interest and mood to your blog or screenshot collection. The following screenshot was for a post where sims were slow dancing.

For movement having an adult "PLay" with the toddler (the interaction where they toss them in the air etc. builds it SUPER quick too!
