Question about Book Nook Kit

I recently purchased the Book Nook Kit and I am experiencing issues with the modular snapping function. The short and medium modular pieces snap vertically to one another as if they are the tall piece, I want to first check here on the forum to see if anyone else is having this issue before reporting it at the help centre, or if this is unique to my game and I somehow screwed my game up somehow.
