Question about saves

I know it's important to back up your saves before patching. Is it safe to load a save and then save to a new slot? Or will just loading a save risk causing problems if there's any bugs? I want to play my pre-patch saves with the new EP, but I wanted to make sure it was safe to load them.

Loading a save and not saving won't harm anything. You can safely use 'save as' instead to duplicate the original save and they won't be connected.

    * There have been bugs in the past that once fixed, only applied to new saves.

    ^What @SimplyJen said.^

@iliekponiez Good question. The answer is opening a save does not change that save.
Making a new save is a good idea for testing until you can get things working, then go back to the original save.
