LGR is not a game changer. Even when he was getting codes from EA he was still producing non Simming videos. He is not dependent on EA in the slightest. I agree some game changers are trying to broaden their horizons, many will jump straight on the sims 5 band wagon.

I don’t think Pixelade is any different in that regard, he can gush with the best of them, the only difference is he will admit once the pack is out he doesn’t like it. Always after he’s back from his free trip.
He said island living was so much better than Island Paradise (which is fine) but how many people were influenced to buy the pack under his review? Whereas by comparison Plumbella was very upfront with her review and even said with the last pack that If someone is considering buying for build and buy and cas- dont - get cc instead and save yourself some money.

A small cc creator won’t get anything out of Pixelade’s proposal except their wallet be $50 lighter. Their creations are free to use. Game changers have to confirm if their videos are sponsored, it’s a legal requirement. I don’t agree this makes him honest, I think it shows he is greedy and only in it for the money which is ironic when reviewing mods helped build his channel. Deligracy for example showcased modders work as has Plumbella this week, they aren’t trying to hit creators in the wallet whilst doing so. They also have a bigger following so have more reach- really what makes his opinion so special he thinks it’s worth 50 bucks?

James's broadening scopes isn't a new thing, he's had a non-Sims channel at least as long as he had his Sims one. Most of the GCs play other games too, at least the ones who are on YouTube or twitch. And most of them don't rely on EA for support anyway. They have their channels with ads and income from merch and whatnot. Sims might be what we know a lot of them for but it's not the only thing.

Sure, for some of them TS4 is the main thing on their channels now but I doubt they're particularly worried about either EA support after TS4 or the whole franchise coming to an end (it could, sure, but as long as it's profitable, there will be more).

As for Pixelade, I think the biggest oops about this whole thing was that the way he presented it was that he was the one initiating the commissions. I wouldn't be surprised if some exchange of money, services, promotion, or goods happens when other YouTubers promote CC packs or mods sometimes. It's just that it's likely done on an on-demand basis rather than "come to me, I'll promote you". That just sounds like "I'm important, you need me" which isn't really true.
I'm no fan of Pixelade for my own reasons (the already mentioned clickbait stuff he does) but to me it was more of a "oh dude, no, bad move" rather than "down with him" kinda thing. There was definitely a part of the community that wildly overreacted, which is sadly the nature of the social media beast.

LGR is the only real one anyway. I don‘t trust any Simmer who gets free stuff from EA, I don‘t trust any Beauty Guru who gets free stuff from , I don‘t trust any tech reviewer who gets free stuff from . This applies to CC creators too. A lot of them steal custom content from other games‘ cc creators, convert it (it‘s easy), pretend it‘s their own and collect Patreon money. Other‘s break EA‘s rules and make Patreon based mods and cc available to the public way too late or never at all.

They all deserve each imo.

The only reason I‘m still subscribed to P is because I enjoy his Paralives videos and I don‘t feel like following a bunch of people on Twitter and blogs for news. I want this game to be released and succeed because EA clearly needs competition. I have unfollowed every other GC.

I agree with some of what you say. I don’t trust one that is given continuous free goodies from a company in exchange for promotion. I don’t follow any game changer for Let’s plays, I watch two or three when a pack comes out to see if it’s worth it or not and that’s if I’m interested in the theme of the pack. I watched only Plumbella for Realm of magic as magic doesn’t appeal to me and she is very good at saying what she likes and she doesn’t. She also admits that she is biased because she’s a game changer but I think she tries to be objective whereas there are many GC that swear they are not biased at all and almost get offended when people suggest they are. Carl’s Guides is also very honest and upfront about things that matter to me. I can’t handle the squealers Lol

The GC programme to me is different, because as much as I hate the premise of the programme, both the GC and EA are getting Financially compensated. I don’t believe that’s the case with this Pixelade situation.

I think Plumbella was at sims camp.

Exactly. That is what annoys me about his channel and others like Mike Zeroh about Star Wars.
Take a topic about anything that you know people are dying to know more information about, when there is little to be had, and post any tiny tibit you can find, even if they are just rumors, and try to make it into a big thing. Make lots of little videos to keep that ad revenue going.

I'm quite happy with re-tweets on Twitter pro or anti, as I am in a different time-zone from EA/Maxis and Guru's Tweets are way back in my Feed and I cannot be bothered looking for the originals. We get news very late on this forum.

I unsubscribed & unfollowed because I disagree with his "business model" & I no longer enjoy his videos because it's getting shorter every time. Plus, on a personal level, I'm very disappointed when he posted the Discovery University leak video. For now, although I never used any Mod or CC, I feel obliged to RT the creators' works whenever they tweeted it because they deserved it. I reckon that, the only way we could "stop" this in the future, is to work as a community by sharing the creators' works.

Doubt he’ll get dropped because of this. But I’m glad he didn’t go. Don’t need clickbait videos for every single detail he would’ve learned. He said he’s taking a leave from twitter too because of hate messages he received, yet still liked and retweeted tweets hours after he wrote that

Over Paralives no. I don't think we have the control or right to choose who should be in the program or not unless they do something illegal like promoting pirating or other illegal things which we can report to the police.

Over discussing Discover University however early they did break NDAs with all the leaks. I wasn't aware they were a Game Changer honestly and didn't even know that their site existed prior to this year and even then they really aren't that big like LGR is.

Also some information on the game changer program, they are allowed to play other games.
