I’m glad you’ve learned some new things you can do! The Sims has endless possibilities, so there’s probably things in the game nobody knows about yet.
OMG i've been Simming since Sims 1 came out and I've learnt so much from this and a lot of things i haven't even done yet"queenvortex808;c-17075958" wrote:
Sadly... The Gallery can't be my bestfriend... :(
Are you having trouble with the gallery?
On topic:
- Shortcuts, if you aren't opposed to them, help a bit in build mode (example: reduce and increase object size). The best tip I found for those just starting out is to watch YT speed builds.
- When considering buying a business, keep in mind it isn't as easy as it looks, at least not for some people. Personally, running a 'family' business with just the household to get the hang of things may be your best bet, because you can't exactly control the employees and they don't always do as told.
- Filters in CAS can weed out what you don't (and do) want!
- If you have/had Sims 3 installed alongside Sims 4, there's a special table lamp you can find in Buy Mode. :)
- You can revert the camera style back to Sims 3 style in Settings or using Control + Shift + Tab.
- Need some money but don't want to start a career yet or use cheats? Have your Sim try out a new hobby like Painting/Gardening/Flower Arranging for some quick Simoleons in the process. Especially painting, because even if your Sim is sad, they can still Paint.
- Try going into First Person mode by holding Shift + Tab for a change.
- Grilled Cheese Aspiration. Enough Said.
- You can change the color of lights for a pretty cool setting.
- Clicking on a Need (the round icon, not the bar) will make your Sim do whatever is available to raise that need.
- Have your Sim get up at least an hour or two before the 'work in # hours' pops up, especially helpful if you need to get them into a certain mood.
- Activating cheats and then typing 'cas.fulleditmode' lets you edit any sim in town fully (looks, traits, relationships, clothes etc).
- Try to always buy the automatic feeder for your pets as it lasts longer. Otherwise, you may find yourself refilling the bowl a lot when you could be doing something else.
- The NanoTouch Touchless Trash Can ($1200) allows your Sim to receive $10 each time they discard something.- My #1 tip for new simmers: Always. Make. A salad first. ? Never start with any dish with requires a furnace when first gaining the cooking skill. The chance of a fire just is so big.

Another fun fact that I love to share is that Johnny Zest is actually a son of Geoffry & Nancy Landgraab! It was quite the "wow, never knew!" moment when I figured that one out. - So many new tips and tricks. Just got sims 4 while it was free and I can't wait for when I have money to buy some packs. Just wish I had more clothes options and hair options
Also how do some of you come up with your sims names? I sometimes go with a theme but never lasts long "Heart_0f_Stone54;c-17082376" wrote:

I literally use randomize all the time. What names were showing up for you? If you get the City Living expansion you will get names from different cultures like Ashneb Jukbeluskfsvf.- Smellincoffee6 years agoSeasoned AceYou can pick up stuff with the mouse in live mode now! Those plates on the table? Drag `em to the trash. That fridge door? Open it up, take the leftovers right out so the toddler can eat without bothering an adult. :D
Oh, and go ahead and park an outdoor trash can right outside your kitchen. Heck, INSIDE your kitchen. The thing is a bottomless pit and you can drop endless dishes into it. :)"starrett0311;c-17075505" wrote:
how do you get the calendar feature to work? do you need mods?
That's probably exclusive to Seasons, since the calendar was introduced to handle the holidays. - There’s also a Lessons thing you can go into to learn new things.
