Because it's far easier to take a "picture" using screenshot feature (getting exact pose and angle you want) than using the in-game camera, but using the in-game camera you can put the pictures on you...

I have so many family photos on my walls, and there's usually a member missing because they have to take the picture. I definitely would love to see this as a feature in the game.
