Sim autonomously tried for baby?

I've never had this happen before.

In my legacy household it's the heir (Marina), her husband (Gavin), her brother (Oliver) and two dogs. Oliver was invited out on a date to a restaurant late last sim night. While he was on the date I was admiring how cute the whole situation was. I glanced down to the household panel and noticed Gavin was tense. I clicked on him. He had a tense moodlet that said this:

Conception Tension

(From Trying for Baby)

If a Sim hates children, they're bound to be a little tense about a potential pregnancy.

Gavin has the 'hates children' trait. I seldom play that trait but he's a randomly generated townie. Does this mean Marina is pregnant? I'm so confused- I didn't know sims in your household could automously try for a baby. I wasn't able to switch back to her and have her take a pregnancy test because my (real life) dog tried to tear things up. The anticipation is intense.

Has this ever happened to you before?

  • I never had a birth unless I wanted them to have a kid, but I think it might be possible that a couple in active household can try for baby by free will. I normally play one of the parents when they are not at work, and I've ticked off free will for active sim, so they hardly had a chance to do this on their own.
  • Do you have mc command centre mod installed by any chance sounds like that

Nope I'm new to Sims and have never installed any mods or custom content! Just Spa Day and Cats & Dogs. The earlier time it happened at home in bed, this time we went to the lighthouse and I was about to have them go for it but they did it on their own before I had a chance!

I kind of love fighting with my Sim about what she wants to do, haha!

Haha, I used to fight for ages before I discovered the check box :)
  • As some of you might remember I had this happen some time back. I couldn't believe it and really didn't want to share it at first because of the grief others had gotten from reporting the same thing. I haven't had it happen since - but now I don't trust any of my sims. I do have Sims that go off and woo who on their own.
  • Never had that happen without a mod, It would drive me mad If it was an in game feature, even if it would make the game play more interesting
  • Lol, I wish this would happen more often! It would make the game super interesting.
