Snowy Escape or Eco Lifestyle for Family Slice of Life gameplay

Hi, I'm a longtime player who tends to play with a slice of life family style (like I have a big focus on young couples who get married and have kids and all the parenting stuff until their children get old then I move on with the youngest child to repeat, it's the little thing I enjoy). I've recently been considering getting another pack and these are the only two big ones I don't yet have. I've been reading some old threads on which is better but most seem very split and focus a lot on glitches that over a year later I'm hoping no longer exist, but I can't actually find anything that's recent on how they play.

I'd prefer to choose the pack that adds the most slice of life styled options. So I really like the idea of snowy escape from a vacation standpoint (plus the new build stuff looks cool) especially as like a honeymoon location, but the Eco Lifestyle stuff adding the option of solar panels and water saving for off the grid living would also be cool. Normally I'd quickly be able to just choose one but it's been really hard and I'd like to hear from people that play similarly how each one effects your sims day to day life? I will at some point get both so it's not a big deal if the wrong one is gotten, but right now I can only afford one so I'm a bit stuck.
  • I have both and I think Snowy Escape has way more family-oriented stuff. Everyone from toddlers to adults can go sledding. There are two festivals that are fun to bring kids to, one is completely kid-oriented. Hot pot is delightful for a family to eat together. The world has locations for hiking and other group activities that are fun with a family. There are well developed townie households with kids and teens in them.

PS If you don't have Seasons, the snowy neighborhood in Snowy Escape might give you access to the Seasons snow gameplay- build snowpals, make snow angels, toddlers playing in snow- but confirm that elsewhere, I'm not positive since I had Seasons already.

Oh that sounds really good actually. I do have season but I'm suddenly realizing I don't think I've ever played a toddler in winter. That's weird of me.

I think I just need to make a decision so yeah I'll get that one for now. I don't think I'll regret it either way so lets see how it is!

I was going to say the same thing as @mightysprite, Snowy Escape is the better choice for family-oriented players. Eco Lifestyle's gameplay is more in-depth and affects more worlds, but has no activities for children other than candle-making (and only the most basic ones because they can't build the corresponding skill). I also think Mount Komorebi is a much nicer world than Evergreen Harbor, but that's just personal preference.
  • The cooking together and sentiments are both basegame. Sentiments was added just before Snowy came out, and cooking together was added just before Cottage Living I think.
The packs since then include pack-specific sentiments- maybe all the packs do? Cottage, Werewolves and High School Years definitely have their own sentiments.

Snowy Escape for sure. There are a lot more family-friendly interactions/events that come with the pack compared to Eco-Life style.

Snowy Escape, because they have an event called 'Children's Day' where kids can go and due things geared towards them.
Also, that pack has sentiments, and emphasized family game play in the trailers.
