I don't think that they are, because they want to be trendy and in with the new teens now, but in the deepest pits of my heart I just so so wish that they learned to put in the kind of love and polish that The sims 2 received into the next one. It would feel great to be with The Sims franchise again. To experience new things again. Alas, The Sims 4 is the wrong direction, so I am personally no longer funding it.
They can be trendy and still have details. TS4 sims could pull dishes and utensils out of the cupboards when cooking for example, and simple things like not being trapped by some garbage on the floor and stepping around it.
