My god. Sims 2 was just....so amazing. <3
I'm going back to it.- Peapod79New SpectatorI knew he could make another 50...
I hope the sims team is paying attention to these. - OldeSimsFanNew TravelerHe could easily get at least one more. Examples: If you have a car in a garage, make sure an alarm is in there as well as the house. Learned that the hard way. Fixing cars has 4 animations sets: testing before working on it which gives you an explosion and smoke; work on engine which has several animations -some rather cute/amusing, occasional car rebellions, and progress in appearance of both engine and interior; working on body with a power sander/grinder complete with sparks; painting, primer first then a choice of top coats. The finished car then can be either used or sold for a nice profit. Digging for treasure - sometimes you find things, sometimes you break a pipe and are rewarded with a water gyser. Combing the sand can get you nothing, some sort of object or even jewelry, an upset crab attached to finger.

I don't think that they are, because they want to be trendy and in with the new teens now, but in the deepest pits of my heart I just so so wish that they learned to put in the kind of love and polish that The sims 2 received into the next one. It would feel great to be with The Sims franchise again. To experience new things again. Alas, The Sims 4 is the wrong direction, so I am personally no longer funding it.
They can be trendy and still have details. TS4 sims could pull dishes and utensils out of the cupboards when cooking for example, and simple things like not being trapped by some garbage on the floor and stepping around it. - Peapod79New Spectator

You would think so, but I've heard the word "limitations" from this team so many times that I'm not too sure that they have the budget or time for both. I mean, functioning elevators can't be that hard, right? Except that we couldn't get it this time around because of limitations.
Oh that! Yes, I've heard that too. Limitations because the game engine can't/won't do it because it was supposed to be an online game..
All the things missing that people want back, and hopes for TS5. Well if TS5 is to be online like they've recently suggested that it will, I guess we can expect less details and even more limitations. - GalacticGalSeasoned AceThat video makes me miss playing Sims2. I should have commented below, because he missed a detail I haven't seen since Sims2. In build mode, if you zoom in the camera on your foundation, you'll see the foot prints of the worker's boots all
over. It's very cool. And real.
ETA: I also miss how much more realistic the ghosts were. Now, they're worse than milk toast. They are Caspar the Friendly Ghost, on steroids! - GalacticGalSeasoned Ace

The one I don't want, is if your sim drinks coffee and starts shaking like a bad old fashion VHS movie on a TV display with the V-hold and H-hold not tuned right... That would drive me nuts. Heh heh!
Actually, that can happen in RL, if you drink too many fully-leaded coffees in a day. Me? I'm stuck on half-caff because my Neurologists insists caffeine is not good for my brain. At least, he didn't take it away altogether, so I am grateful for his compromise. - There are some things in CAS I miss too like these features from the Sims 3 that I wish four had:

Yeah it's ashame how far the sims have fallen. I don't see the sims 5 doing any better especially if it's the same crew's that work on the sims 3 and 4. See how much they wanted to thank their Loyal fans with this wonderful hot tub for the 20 th anniversary. ?
I don't think it's the crew, but the people upstairs with the clipboards telling them what they can and can't do.
I’m not so sure, Grant said once on Twitter they have a lot of freedom and aren’t told what to include or not include.
