The revived Mother will have some new options available. You can request bizarre fruit from her and communicate with her, but the most interesting interaction is Request Weirdness. Clicking on this will allow you to set the infection level of the town. There is a low, medium, and high option as well as an option for no infection. You can use these options to keep StrangerVille as normal or as weird as you like.Reviving The Mother also allows you to play through the story again with a different family if you want to. This is useful if you want to try and complete the story a different way; the story can be completed as a civilian or through the military career. You can also give the Hero of StrangerVille trait to another Sim by completing the story again.

Yeah! Thanks... I haven't defeated her yet. I had guessed on some things but this helps make plans better. I don't mind spoilers at all and want to play it as I want my sims to play it to that point. I think they will play it out a number of times. I want alll the weirdness!

I have a writer who moved to Strangerville for inspiration and just finished defeating the mother. She fell in love with the town and has decided to make it her home. Which, will stay mother free for a while. Eventually though, when the hero has passed on, strange things will start to happen and the town will once again be under the influence of the mother. At this point the previous time will just be a story that no one really believes and the crazy grandma that used to tell stories of her heroic adventures...her grandchild may just become the next hero.

Hello,will housed/(un)played Sims get infected if I choose moderate or maximum weirdness? I am thinking about reviving the Mother and playing in a dystrophic setting, just to enjoy the weird weather and the plants, but I don't want my played/housed sims to get infected.Thanks a lot! :)

There are many different ways to obtain the items needed for the story. The story is pretty flexible that way.

Cool! I tried to avoid spoilers so far, but I am so hesistant to kill motherplant.... Knowing we can bring her back solved the conflict.

So if you played with aging on, you could make this something like "a monster that rises each generation anew" :)

Oh, thank you for the information. I never thought I would want to revive her, but I seem to miss that weirdness in my game.

I started a new game to start over and saved my "winning" game to keep it normal :D

It is permanent in my Vamp save game. At least for now it is, as the originally infected sim has lived about 6 game weeks and the one she has since infected since starting the game has been infected for three sims game weeks.

I do not plan on curing them as in this story at least the "problem" is from a very different source. I doubt these two will even visit Strangerville for a long while yet, if at all.

I also just went in and tried a different test. I have a save where the story is completed and have not even attempted to go back in lab.

I bought some bizarre fruit and then using the mischief option, gave it to one of the originally infected sims. This sim never received a vaccine. I was able to reinfect her with no problem and this is without starting the story back up.

I used the mischief option and gave the bizarre fruit to a sim I had vaccinated and they did still get the "the fruit seems to have no effect due to the vaccine so they are safe, for now.." I will be curious to try again if I do wake something up and let a few sims weeks go by.

For me at least, this gives some great flexibility on how one can play with the bizarre fruit in various stories.

One last test.

I went and and communicated. I then requested weirdness . I then went back in and request normal. I took my sim (who is the very same sim that defeated you know who), and had her visit the same sim that I had earlier tried to infect. (vaccinated sim).

I ate the fruit and gave the fruit to the vaccinated sim and we both became infected even in the normal world. It was one sims day from the point of the other sim getting vaccinated and we both defeating something something.

Not sure if it was just changing the weirdness and then back to normal but it is possible to infect sims that were previously vaccinated.
