I am currently playing the NSB challenge (third times the charm) and in TRUE sims fashion... a lot happened all at once my heir is now a ghost... I do have them back in my household now (with the hope I could bring them back from the other side)I know there are a couple ways I could do this - I looked into one as it seemed a little easier than trying to get some ambrosia.I now have the book of life BUT I have read that I would've needed to attach it to a sim before? they died.. or is there a way of doing it with said ghost sim in my household?Any advice or tips would be amazing, thank you!

Unless you already have a sim on their way to completing the bestselling author aspiration, I'd say ambrosia is actually faster/easier to obtain than the book of life, it "only" requires you to max the gourmet cooking skill and find some rare ingredients. And yeah, as you already figured out, the book has to be bound to a sim before their death.If you're going to use the wishing well from the Romantic Garden SP, make sure the well is in a good mood and save your game before wishing the dead person back to life, because there's always a chance it will go wrong. Alternatively, if you have Realm of Magic, witches can learn spells to summon ghosts and give them their bodies back, the former shouldn't be a problem since the ghost is already in your household.

Is your sim a ghost and a child life stage? Ambrosia may not work. I had that happen to me with the magical wishing well. My sim wished for a child and a ghost kid appeared. She's an absolute doll but her possessing everything got old quick. I had her mom make Ambrosia. Didn't work. And she used Dedeathify spell which also didn't work. I think its an in-game glitch since she is technically alive but with the ghost trait. I just pretended her spell did the trick and I went in and revived her via MCCC. I don't count it as cheating in that instant

Insert backstory of how this happened: First of all it's my NSB save so the names are slightly ridiculous - Minding my own business sorting out my sims needs, building skills etc getting them ready and working on the things they'll need when i get to them - sending my sim butter to bed because she is tired... i hear the music and see the notification that butter is drowning... I dash the cam to her and i'm like "OHHHH... what do i do now?!".. i know, i will get her twin brother popcorn to plead for her life - WINNER WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER - butter is back from the dead. Fantastic!Popcorn then thinks it's a great time to go swimming (he is also tired &&&& just witnessed his sister die) .... and follows suit... "popcorn is drowning" - the mum tries to plead for his life and Grim is like "nope, i'm taking this one..." and that was that In typical sims fashion, it all happened so fast! :|

Not gonna lie that is an awesome story!!! ???? And Butter and Popcorn are amazing names btw. Im so glad you brought Popcorn back to life!!!!Seeiously you made my day. I live in Texas and havent had power, heat, or water for 3 days because of this freak snow/ice storm. Just got power enough back to charge my cell phone.

You can get ambrosia from the gallery. You can also use the wishing well that came with Romantic Garden Stuff.

Just search ambrosia on the gallery. Many people upload it as a plate placed in a 1 tile room. :)

I ideally don't wanna "cheat" as it's in my legacy challenge but this might be the only way without veering off to make it myself and finding everything to do so

I have the book of life - as I googled on how to bring a sim back and I read this

"can bring the Sim back to life by ordering them to eat the Ambrosia. This is not, however, the only way to bring back the dead in The Sims 4. The Book of Life does the same, if you have a Ghost use the book once they're back in your Household. "

but then I found other places saying it had to be bound first rather than bringing a sim that had already died back

I'll look into ambrosia for sure :)

yes, he is a ghost kid - he died, I saw him visit one night and I added him back into my household that way..

I don't have MCCC so that makes me think I can't bring him back at all?
Maybe if I go into CAS (fulleditmode) and age him up and then get him to eat ambrosia in game?
