I finally got the Life & Death pack, and had my first visit in a temporary new save with no mod folder. I normally do this just to look around and to check if my old computer seems to handle it.
So, after creating a temp sim for the visit I entered Crow's Criossing. I normally dislike EA's habit of making hood names with two words starting with the same letter (we have so many of those and I think it started with Brindleton Bay) but this time I like Crow's Crossing and already made a detailed backstory like I often do. In my game I had families like Raven and Cracrow since years back, they will suit Ravenwood perfectly (or their ancestors will). I already created 200 years of backstories and family tree (web) for several Ravenwood households. The Specter family will need to move to Mourningvale because I need their house for the Vicarage.
Not plannng to focus on ghosts, though, and it seems like the premade ghosts are not too invasive. My testsim approves the first hood!
The town is super lovely! I love the many levels, the old architectural style, the colors and all. I'm only a bit worried on behalf of Elderly sims - so many steep stairs! Now - how many NPCs will I meet before Nancy Landgraab and Judith Ward show up? With all packs installed there should be a good number of sims to choose from, maybe they are less busy in new worlds these days? Mortimer Goth is more suitable in this place.
My testsim found the memorial canon and decided to fire a salute - if possible. Assuming it is a new feature, perhaps a minimum skill is needed...
Ha! There was a very tiny boom, more like a Medieval fart. Celebrating this wonderful place!
I'll be busy for weeks to come implementing family trees, creating old family portraits, installing the planned households and more. So far it looks like i will keep more premade houses than I normally do.
And - Judith Ward won the Judy/Nancy race! She appeared among those birds at a town square festival (?). You could not hide from me, Judith, I knew you would be there, somewhere! I ran into Nancy too, a bit later while checking the graveyard.
Then, a quick visit to Mourningvale. It looks very intriguing, I'm looking forward to check out more, although I have no plans of playing Grim or focusing on ghosts, though.
It just feels so different, and I know I will make use of it somehow,
Now to the hard and fun work adding this all with my own universe of sims and stories! My life is now officially in do-not-disturb-mode :)
The pictures are beautiful of the new world!
