- Honestly it doesn't matter if you prefer slow speed or ultra or the game play in 2 or 4 or another game. Preferring one style over another doesn't make anyone superior or more special. Just play your favourite way. That's why the choices are there.
Someone telling me 2 is the best isn't going to make me enjoy that game. If I tell someone 4 is best it won't make them like it. All of this is subjective to opinion. Saying one is better than another for gameplay clearly just won't convince someone who likes the gameplay off a diff one that it is so.
Everyone is welcome to a favourite and to state what it is and to play that one and I hope everyone has fun playing their preference cuz fun is what it should be about. Enjoy! - I love the older games and I like playing on high speeds. Has nothing to do with it. That being said, there are a lot of details you can miss in ts2 if you skip past them.

Watching videos like this makes me really wish I could have played TS2 :/
Why cant you? I still play it on my comp, its windows 10.
I wish they could make it available on steam or origin or some other service. Along with ts1- ChampandGirlieNew SpectatorI enjoyed the older versions while I played them but I also enjoy the game that I have now.
I only use ultra when they are all asleep at night until the first sim wakes up for the next day.
There are some things that I'd like to see back like the cuddling in bed and discussing interests. The cooking style doesn't bother me as much. It they release a cars pack, I'll probably be interested but right now, I don't really miss them. They aren't majorly important to me.
I won't hate on the older versions, I do like some of the modern aspects of TS4. I also strongly prefer the graphics and visual world. "drakharis;c-17412362" wrote:

Sims 4 will never match sims 2. It’s a the poor man version and videos like that prove it.
Sims 4 tries not to offend anybody. Sims 4 is overly politically correct. Taking no risks and removing all the little touches that made The Sims through The Sims 3 and even Sims Medieval exciting games to play. Makes everything they put out feel incomplete. An example is Realm of Magic. I love the game pack but it feels incomplete. Like things are missing that should be there.
I agree but seems more limited even with that with being politically correct for white collared criminals which is sad. I played Sims to escape that."Scobre;c-17412339" wrote:
Uh I play Sims 4 on ultra and have all the packs and mods/CC. Sims 4 has the lowest spec requirement of all my games on steam including the Sims 3 with DLCs. I think it is about slightly lower specs as my Stardew Valley game which is 2D. My Sims 3 loading screens are faster not using the interactive loading screens.
Sims 4 also has severe memory leaks like the Sims 3 did which also have to be remedied with mods.

Oh, we were talking about Speed 3.
It's something that happens when you are actually really burned out of the franchise but haven't realized it yet, so you play the game on a constant Speed 3."SimAlexandria;c-17412451" wrote:

It doesn’t matter if you play the game on high speed and enjoy that. It doesn’t matter if you press play and go and fetch yourself a cup of coffee, read a magazine, pay some bills, cook dinner, eat dinner, watch Netflix, then return to your computer to see what your sims are up to. That’s all totally fine if that’s how you like playing the game. Play the game any way you want to, but you’ll have to appreciate that others draw the conclusion that if that’s what enjoying the game is about, it must miss certain aspects that matter to them.
This is not about not granting others their playing style. It’s about what the game should have to be enjoyable for us. And yes, opinions vary. Like, I reacted to someone who played Sims 3 on ultra speed and Sims 4 on normal speed. For me that’s the other way around. Something tells me it actually does mean I enjoy Sims 3 more and they enjoy Sims 4 more.
P.s. I must confess some details in Sims 2 made me press 3 as well. Like stepping into the car after a while, and taking away all the plates on a table after dinner, and having to go to the fridge to fetch a bottle. For me too much detail apparently can become a bit grinding. For me not every short cut means deterioration.
Watching this video the parts that hurt me most, are those where interactions with other sims are way more varied and detailed. And some of the details that don’t take time but simply look smoother, better."Goosey;c-17412651" wrote:
Sims 4 still lacks a simple drum set to play. We have guitars and pianos and even mics. I can't make a proper band without a drummer.
Sims 3 had it, why doesn't this game?
Probably so they can sell it back to us in a separate $10 stuff pack. Coming in Fall 2020... The Sims 4: Here’s Some Drums You Heathens Now Be Quiet! ?"Grynn;c-17412560" wrote:

Oh yeah Sims 4 is super safe. I don't even have to put it on speed 3. Honestly could leave the game for hours and nothing bad will happen. It is the first iteration I've played where it is that safe to ditch your game for hours. Honestly, I have more fun playing Oxygen Not Included on speed 3 than the Sims 4. I actually had all my people die during a Sims stream for ignoring them on speed 3.
