Toddler needs not met when one parent at school

If you worried the mom can go to college on her on. She can just leave for class from home and come home in between classes. There is no need to travel with her. Then you the player stay with dad and the kids. OR edit the lot. Put stuff in the commons and or library that the kids need and bring everyone with you. Right before class time travel to campus with everyone. I put a little play/education area in the commons and library.
