Yes, Fabrication can fail, especially early skill level I guess. It grabs them sometimes and they go for an unexpected dip in the machine. It’s quite the animation but doesn’t hurt them.

I was hoping it would be like Sulani - you pick up the rubbish and recycle it but you cant click on any of the rubbish piles which is a shame - from what I gather you have to dumpster dive for rubbish to go into the recycling machines? Its not very clear to be honest

You need a Sim living in the neighbourhood you want to clean up. Then when voting is on (Friday to Monday) vote in “Green Initiatives in Port Promise” or “Green Initiatives in Grims Quarry.” It is per neighbourhood, not world.
Once voted in, it takes the whole in game week from Monday evening to Monday again for everything to clear up completely.

There is also a “Modern Initiatives in ” which will work the same.

Both on together has very significant effect.

@foxybilly You need to use a NAP to clear the trash from EL neighbourhoods. It's the modern development one.
Edit: Didn't know the green inititives also clean the neighbourhoods, learned something new :)

CK213, I actually did try the NAPS when I first got the pack, and will probably try them again when I play a game committed to the Eco Living gameplay. I didn't care for the NAPS and mostly play in other neighborhoods so prefer to have them turned off. I do love the community spaces and wish they weren't tied to the NAPS. When I get a new pack I like to try out all the gameplay it offers to see how it plays out and whether or not it is something I will enjoy or use all the time or just in certain game stories.

Thank you that's a huge help - its unfortunate I won't have a long enough time to do it as the trial but I do like the world - its a shame the waters aren't swimmable though - I love this try before you buy thing that EA are doing, hope they do it again with one of the other worlds I would love to try Mount Komorebi :)

I downloaded the free trial as well, because I don't want my other worlds to be polluted, and have heard some bad things about the pack. I don't actually want to buy it, but I am curious about it, so I plan to check it out.

I don't have Eco Living and I decided not to even download the trial. I'm literally scared of those NAPs!

I was a bit scared about NAPS but I disabled them - although I still found some poor townies wandering around with bags on their heads :D

so I know I wont be buying this one but ill make the most of the trial - shocked that there wasnt many plots/houses etc (not sure if its just for the trial or Eco Living usual pack?)

I am a control freak with sims 4 and I dont like random rubbish everywhere, I know it would really wind me up over time :D

Honestly the amt of plots are pretty standard these days, the Gurus has statedin the past that there won't be super huge worlds. 10 to 12 is the standard now.

You really only have to worry about garbage everywhere in Evergreen Harbor. I admit I do have the pack but I have not played much in the town itself. As for pollution in other worlds I haven't run across my worlds becoming heavily polluted. Brindleton bay tends to skew towards the industrial side becuase of tge strays and the poop I think.

@Caltxcat We have been given a separate save for the Eco living trial and it wont affect our other worlds - so how do you get rid of the rubbish piles in Evergreen Harbour? I tried clicking on them but nothing was happening? thanks :)

I removed it mainly for the NAPS. But I did like community spaces and some of the Eco features.
And there are also some clothing and hairstyles that I like.

And now that we have Home Decorator, I really would like the furniture making machine.
My decorator sim will also own a home furnishing business. It would be cool if she could manufacture her own furniture pieces.
I could also see some of my wellness sims setting up in a community space for Yoga and Meditation classes.

But I don't want to see sims with bags on their heads, home invasions and home theft from friends, free love, or inventories filled with clay and future cubes. If I have to go around to every neighborhood fixing unwanted NAPs, I would rather not have the pack at all. But if I can avoid all that and not have to worry about it, I would put the pack back.

You can turn off NAPs from the options menu. Which means you can fulfill your dreams without NAP disturbances ?
